Game Recap: The Mets scored 2 in the first on a bases loaded single by Neil Walker. They added 2 more in the second as Michael Conforto doubled in Rene Rivera and Asdrubal Cabrera, both of whom were hit by pitches. Jacob deGrom got in major trouble in the third without a ball leaving the infield, 1 run came in on an infield single, an error and 2 walks. Hunter Pence singled in two runs to make it 4-3 but the inning ended with Brandon Belt getting thrown out at third on the play. The Mets got an insurance run in the 5th on a home run by Conforto, and then another one on a homer by Wilmer Flores in the 6th. Those extra runs came in handy in the 8th as Addison Reed loaded the bases without getting an out. Hansel Robles allowed 2 sacrifice flies and Jerry Blevins got the last out. Jeurys Familia came in for the 9th and got the save.
Additional Notes: Noah Syndergaard-en Gnome day. We lined up an hour before the gates opened, 2 hours before the game started to make sure we got the gnomes, which sold for upwards of $100 on eBay. Giants relief pitcher Derrick Law refused to throw a ball into the crowd during pregame warmups. Mom was 37 weeks pregnant with Lincoln. Game time was moved from 7pm to 4pm. Game took place on the last day of Passover.

Game Recap: The Mets got down early as the second batter of the game, Anthony Rendon, hit a home run. Plawecki walked to lead off the bottom of the third. The next two batters made out. Curtis Granderson homered on a 2-2 count. Daniel Murphy hit the next pitch for a home run. Yoenis Cespedes singled on a 1-0 count and Lucas Duda hit the first pitch he saw for a 2-run homer. 3 homers, 5 runs in one inning, in the span of 5 pitches. Noa Syndergaard pitched 8 innings and struck out Bryce Harper with a man on to end the 8th.

Additional Notes: On July 29th, Wilmer Flores cried on the field thinking he was about to be traded. On July 30th, the Mets blew a 7-1 lead and lost to the Padres. On July 31st, the Mets traded Michael Fulmer for Yoenis Cespedes and won the game that night, the first of a 3-game series against the Nationals, on a walkoff homer by Wilmer Flores.
Game was moved from 1pm to 8pm for ESPN. Julian ran the Mr. Met Dash on the field after the game.
