Game Recap: The Mets got down early as the second batter of the game, Anthony Rendon, hit a home run. Plawecki walked to lead off the bottom of the third. The next two batters made out. Curtis Granderson homered on a 2-2 count. Daniel Murphy hit the next pitch for a home run. Yoenis Cespedes singled on a 1-0 count and Lucas Duda hit the first pitch he saw for a 2-run homer. 3 homers, 5 runs in one inning, in the span of 5 pitches. Noa Syndergaard pitched 8 innings and struck out Bryce Harper with a man on to end the 8th.

Additional Notes: On July 29th, Wilmer Flores cried on the field thinking he was about to be traded. On July 30th, the Mets blew a 7-1 lead and lost to the Padres. On July 31st, the Mets traded Michael Fulmer for Yoenis Cespedes and won the game that night, the first of a 3-game series against the Nationals, on a walkoff homer by Wilmer Flores.
Game was moved from 1pm to 8pm for ESPN. Julian ran the Mr. Met Dash on the field after the game.
